This little headset has apparently won tons of design awards and stuff like that. Anyways, it comes in 8 colors ranging from pastel to somewhat metallic.
They last for an advertised 8 hours of talk time and 180 hours of standby time which is pretty amazing. They look nothing like a Bluetooth headset either.
The only thing I don’t like is the company’s site where you cant find a single picture from any other angle except in the flash ad on the front page where you can’t really see anything. But, they do have a picture of a model wearing one, and it doesn’t look too uncomfortable, which is good since that’s what some of their awards were for. If you want one, it will cost you $80, you can get it here.

Following up on the RICA 100 that Ricavision unveiled in May is the VAVE100, which doesn't deviate too far from its past siblings in the design department, but does offer up a 2.4-inch QVGA LCD, a shiny green MCE button and SideShow functionality. As we'd expect, this thing is a Class 1 (~50 meters promised) Bluetooth device with A2DP support, and it comes with its own docking station, a BT transceiver and a power charger. The remote enables users to control over 20 different components from up to 50-feet away via IR, and the buttons are backlit to keep you from fumbling around in the dark while trying to switch tracks. Unfortunately, you won't be using one of these to control your new gear (you are asking for new gear this year, right?) until next February, but you will save $25 by pre-ordering now for $274.

No matter how often we humans fail at designing "futuristic" fashion that the real future inevitably disowns, it's always fun to try. Bogner's got a good thing going here, what with a few solar panels and myriad of LED lights embedded into the ski suit of the future, and since the suit was designed to help with Munich's bid for the 2018 Winter Olympics, that gives us plenty of time to find the design perfectly detestable when the real future rolls around. The solar panels use thin film tech developed by OSRAM, with an output ratio of 55 lumen / watt. Even with that kind of efficiency, the moon must be pretty dang bright over there in Germany to power the suit as shown. Who knew?

If you've ever wondered how Barbie will prey upon the insecurities of the future generation of robot-assimilated little girls -- this is it. 2736. Postal Service to Netflix: redesign your mailers or face fees
Filed under: Home Entertainment
digg_url = 'http://digg.com/tech_news/Postal_Service_to_Netflix_redesign_your_mailers_or_face_fee_2';You know those handy mailers that you've been sending back to Netflix for ages as you eagerly await the next few flicks in your queue? Apparently, those buggers have cost the US Postal Service a staggering $41.9 million in additional labor costs over the past two years due to their "nonmachinable nature," and if things aren't changed, it could cost 'em another $61.5 million over the next couple years. In a letter from the Inspector General's office, Netflix is being, um, asked to rework its mailers or face a $0.17 surcharge per envelope, and if such a fee was tacked on, it would reportedly decrease the outfit's monthly operating income per paying subscriber by a whopping 67-percent. Not surprisingly, it sounds as if Netflix will bite the bullet and redesign the problematic mailer if the USPS is serious about the charges, so feel free to keep an eye out for a design change in the not-too-distant future.

2794. Ideazon's Reaper Edge gaming mouse gets reviewed
Filed under: Peripherals
It's been over a year since Ideazon threw its Reaper into the totally saturated gaming mouse market, but now that the Reaper Edge has arrived to challenge the revived SideWinder, Razer Lachesis and Saitek Cyborg (to name just a few), it seems suitable to see how it stacks up. The folks over at ExtremeTech were able to wrap their hands around said device, and the long and short of it is that it's a real competitor. Gamers looking for a new mouse should probably put Ideazon on their short list, as what it lacks in brand appeal it more than makes up for in the design and performance departments. Reviewers praised the "real rubber thumb grip," intelligently placed side buttons and relatively low price tag ($69.99 MSRP), but did note that the bundled software wasn't as robust as they would've liked. Still, the Reaper Edge seemed to have quite a bit going for it, but feel free to dive into the full review below if you're still skeptical. 2797. Jonathan Ive being groomed to take over for Jobs one fateful day?
You've probably heard of Jonathan Ive: darling of the technology and industrial design worlds, and El Jobso's handsome, mountain of a right hand man in product design since the CEO's second coming at Apple. You might also know him as the dude that birthed the iMac, titanium Power Book and MacBook (Pro), iPod, iPhone, and just about every decent-looking Apple product in the last decade. Well, he's also apparently the guy the most people seem to be pontificating -- whether officially or not -- as Jobs's successor, according to the Times. Of course, there's another obvious, prominent theory about why the ever tight-lipped Apple hasn't done as most publicly traded companies and made a formal contingency plan for succession of the CEO gig: Jobs is immortal. 2820. PSP Phone concept, I think I like this one the best
So gamers realize that when cellphone manufacturers try and combine gaming and cell-phones they usually screw it up, so in an effort to push Sony-Ericsson in the right direction, some guy came up with this design for the PSP phone. It maintains the full functionality of the PSP but adds the phone functionality in.
It looks like it’s a dual slider that slides up for the phone keypad or at an angle for the PSP controls. Sure, you might lose the UMD slot with this design, but it’s on its way out already, so by the time this phone would be released, you should be good to go.
The best part is that instead of trying to build a gaming platform onto some mediocre mobile devices, you’d be taking an already fairly well-developed gaming platform and try and build a phone into it, I have a feeling that it would work a lot better this way. Also, this guy apparently things that a PSP phone would be deservant of a 3.2MP cam on the back and hopefully 3rd or 4th generation WWAN access on top of the WiFi the PSP already has. Sadly, this is just a concept, and not even one from Sony or Sony-Ericsson, but it’s a great one, so it probably won’t get used.

2823. iPod Touch Stand made from money
This is a YouTube video of some guy (Enrique Pardo) showing you how to use money to make your very own iPod Touch stand. Supposedly it works with the iPhone too, even more supposedly, you don’t have to use a $100 bill to make it, but lets keep it classy and stick to the original design plans.
It’s pretty ingenious if you ask me. I am all about saving money by making my own stuff, but last I checked, the iPod Touch already comes with a stand, a considerably smaller one too.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KU36zTVkOTY
However if you are in a gift exchange with a $500 minimum limit you could by an iPod Touch 16GB and fold together one of these stands out of a $100 bill and throw it in there just for fun. But since you are probably not, its still a cool trick to add to your repertoire of Origami tricks.

I have this issue every year, and then in the end I buy half the things I wanted for my 14 year old sister (we have extremely similar tastes). In case you’re like me and can’t stand to not have a strap you can sling over your shoulder, the bag has a longer strap that can be tucked away inside when it’s not in use.
The amplified stereo speakers run off of four AA batteries, which are as usual not included. It measures 12”x14.5”x3.5” and is being sold for $60.

2944. DisplayLink, Alereon intro wireless USB video card reference design
Filed under: Displays, Wireless
DisplayLink's certainly no stranger to wireless monitors, but it now looks set to push the technology even further along, with it and Alereon trotting out a new reference design for a wireless USB video card (and corresponding monitor adapter). That'll apparently let you use a monitor at a distance of up to three meters, with a throughput of 120-150mbps and lossless compression ensuring that "the image users see is the same that they'd get with a wired monitor," according to Wi-Fi Planet. What's more, you should also be able to use up to six displays at the same time, "theoretically," although DisplayLink admits that gamers likely won't be satisfied. While this is just a reference design, DisplayLink says the final adapter set should run between $150 and $250 when its released in the spring, while monitors with the technology built-in will apparently demand $150 "or more" than a comparable non-wireless model (those are expected in mid-2008).

What's that, you say? Reportedly, that picture you see above is the Motorola A1600, which could be the long-awaited successor to the A1200 MING. Granted, we've no proof to go along with it, but the design sure fits the mold. According to Chinese-based eNet, this bugger will sport quad-band GSM connectivity, a 3.2-megapixel camera (with autofocus), WiFi, assisted-GPS, a couple of built-in games, a "talking dictionary" and a Linux-based OS. Interestingly enough, that last tidbit certainly conflicts with other reports we've heard, but we suppose time will tell (look for a February launch) what system really ends up running the MING 2 show.

3118. CES 2008: Samsung launches a slew of digital cameras - here's a quick roundup
Along with hundreds of high def tellies, it's traditional for electronics manufacturers to flood their CES stands with digital cameras in all shapes and sizes. Some of them may not have the most wild and quirky set of features, but these are the cameras you'll actually be buying next year when Currys works out that no-one's stupid enough to buy consumer electronics before Xmas and has to flog 'em off cheap in the new year. Here's the run down:
Samsung i8
The latest in the multifaceted PMP range of Samsung cameras, the i8 offers MP3, WAV and video files as well as the more normal act of taking photos. It takes 8 megapixel shots and measures in at 3.5' x 2.3' x 0.8'. Compared to its CES award winning predecessor, the i85, the design is a lot less angular than before, although I can't quite decide if that's really been a good thing.
